Stirling Albion begin the second quarter of the Ladbrokes League 2 campaign with a game against Clyde at Broadwood on Saturday.
We head for Cumbernauld having drawn 1-1 at East Fife a fortnight ago and seeking our third league win of the season, against a Clyde team who beat us 1-0 at Forthbank on the opening day.
Team news: Midfielder Willie Robertson is suspended after being sent off in our 1-1 draw at Bayview on October 3 while Craig Beattie, Phil Johnston and Salim Kouider-Aissa remain on the injury list. Lee Hamilton and Sean Dickson face late fitness tests but Kevin McKinlay could return after training on Thursday night.
Opponents: Clyde are sixth in the table but are only three points behind leaders Annan. They drew their last game 1-1 at Elgin, with recent signing Marvin Andrews on target. Clyde’s most recent home match was a 1-1 draw with Berwick Rangers. Barry Ferguson’s men include ex-Binos Jon Paul McGovern and Chris Smith in their squad.
Past meetings: Our last visit was on March 15, 2014 when we lost 1-0 to a Stefan McCluskey goal on a typically cold afternoon at Broadwood. We were also beaten 2-1 earlier that season in the proverbial game of two halves, with Bradley Coyne scoring our goal after the break. Albion’s most recent victory in Cumbernauld was 2-1 on the last day of the 2012/13 season – Ross McGeachie grabbed a late winner after Jordan White had equalised from the spot.
