After beating East Stirlingshire 3-2 at Ochilview on Saturday we are looking for our first home win of the season this weekend when Montrose visit Forthbank.
The Gable Endies are one of six teams separated by just a single point in Ladbrokes League 2 and they already hold a five-point advantage over the Binos after five rounds of fixtures.
Team news: Striker Craig Beattie and midfielder Darren Lee Smith remain on the injury list and winger Phil Johnston is a doubt. Midfielder Mark Lamont is again likely to be included as a trialist. French defender Aurelien Mazel got a run-out as an over-age player for the U20s in Tuesday’s 1-1 draw against Raith Rovers.
Opponents: Montrose retained their SPFL status with a dramatic win over Brora Rangers in the play-offs but they have made a good start to 2015/16 and are just a point behind joint leaders Elgin City and East Fife. Paul Hegarty’s side have beaten Arbroath (3-0), Clyde (2-0) and Elgin (2-0) at Links Park but have lost away to Berwick (1-2) and Annan (2-3). Their summer signings included former Albion youth team defender Greg Pascazio from Rangers.
Past meetings: The most recent encounter was a 2-2 draw at Forthbank on March 22, 2014 when Garry Wood equalised with a last-minute penalty. We won 2-1 away and 3-1 at home that season, with the other match ending 0-0 at Links Park. In 2012/13, Montrose held the upper hand, taking seven points out of a possible 12.
