We are pleased to announce the signing of 32-year-old French defender Aurelien Mazel.
International clearance has been received and Aurelien could feature against East Stirlingshire in tomorrow’s local derby at Ochilview.
Comfortable at right-back, centre-back or in midfield, he has vast experience from his time in France, having played almost 100 games for Toulouse.
Aurelien played for Châteauroux in a UEFA Cup tie against Club Brugge and also had spells with Oostende in Belgium and Cannes.
He chalked up more than 200 appearances for Colomiers, where he was club captain, before moving to Scotland and has now signed a contract at Forthbank after training with Stuart McLaren’s squad.
The Binos boss said: “There aren’t many players in any of the squads in our league who can boast of the experience that Aurelien has.
“He is a very assured player, and with his ability to play in a variety of positions, he will no doubt prove to be a valuable addition to our tight-knit group.”
