We play our first away game in Ladbrokes League 2 on Saturday when we face Annan Athletic at Galabank, following the 1-0 defeat to Clyde at Forthbank.
Our hosts finished fifth in the table in 2014/15 and will be hoping to secure a top-four finish this time round, in what looks like being a very competitive division.
Team news: Mark Staunton is suspended after being sent off against Clyde but Ross Smith returns after a one-match ban. Darren Lee Smith remains out but Ross McMillan is likely to be available after missing the first three games of the season. Former Albion manager Greig McDonald was an unused sub as a trialist for Annan last week.
Opponents: Annan missed out on the play-offs last season but made a winning start in Ladbrokes League 2, beating Queen’s Park 1-0 at Hampden. Jim Chapman’s side knocked Airdrie out of the Petrofac Training Cup and welcome St Mirren to Galabank in the second round on Tuesday. Annan lost 4-3 after extra time against Queen of the South in the League Cup.
Past meetings: This will be our sixth visit to Galabank and it has rarely been dull. We lost 5-2 on our first trip in November 2012 and won 1-0 towards the end of that season. In 2013/14, an incredible 4-4 draw was followed by a 2-1 Stirling win at the end of March then that memorable 5-3 victory in the play-off semi-final in May 2014.
