We kick off our Ladbrokes League 2 campaign against Clyde at Forthbank on Saturday, looking to bounce back from cup defeats to Elgin City and Airdrieonians.
Clyde make the short journey to Stirling, having twice lost narrowly to Livingston at Almondvale this season – the Bully Wee are favourites for the title at 11/4, with the Binos next on the list at 4/1.
Team news: Full-back Kevin McKinlay is available after missing the two cup ties due to injury and centre-half Ross McMillan could also return but Darren Lee Smith remains out. Ross Smith is suspended due to a one-match ban carried over from his time at Peterhead. Clyde are without Scott Durie and face a wait to see if the experienced Mark McLaughlin recovers from an injury picked up last week.
Opponents: Clyde finished sixth in League 2 last season but Barry Ferguson has brought in nine new players over the summer. Scott Linton (Dumbarton), Archie Campbell (Dumbarton), Chris Smith (Stirling Albion), Michael Bolochoweckyj (East Stirlingshire), Chris Mitchell (Queen of the South), Sean Higgins (Cowdenbeath), Steven Brisbane (East Stirlingshire), John Gibson (Alloa Athletic) and David Gormley (Auchinleck Talbot) have all signed on at Broadwood for 2015/16.
Past meetings: Clyde have a very good record at Forthbank but we won 4-1 when the sides last met in May 2014. The other game in Stirling that season ended 1-1 but the Bully Wee won both games at Broadwood.
Opening day: We haven’t lost our first league game since a 2-1 defeat at Brechin in August 2008, winning three and drawing three of the six matches since then.
