The 17th SAFC Annual Golf Day at Stirling Golf Club on July 23 proved difficult in terms of weather but did not deter the enthusiasm or dampen the spirits of our 28 teams.
The generosity of the participants and sponsors again exceeded our expectations and, once the total is finalised, it is hoped to have raised over £5,000 for the club. This year’s selected charities were the Eilidh Brown Memorial Fund and Ochil House, Stirling.
Two teams fought it out for first place, with the Port Customs (including SAFC’s hospitality guru Jim Inglis) defeating Forth Valley Police by one shot. SAFC were represented by Stuart Brown, Stuart McLaren, Sean Dickson and Ross Smith, who almost holed in one at the 14th to win the nearest-the-pin prize.
Winner or not, a great day was had by all. Thanks to everyone who made it possible and a special thank you to McKenzie Trailers as the Main Sponsor. Tricia has indicated that this is her final year and anyone interested in taking over should contact the club.
