Binos boss Stuart McLaren was pleased with Saturday’s 1-1 draw in a closed-door friendly against Stranraer.
Ryan Thomson gave Brian Reid’s team an early lead on the Forthbank Astro but defender Mark Staunton, who joined from Irvine Meadow earlier this summer, equalised in the closing minutes.
McLaren, who fielded a different XI in each half, said: “Prior to the match we set the players some objectives in regards to what we wanted from the game and overall I’m satisfied that we achieved that.
“Having had a reasonably demanding training session in the morning, the players were able to maintain a high level of intensity during their 45 minutes.
“We controlled possession for good periods of the game and created a few good opportunities in both halves. Although results mean very little in these games we can take some confidence from a draw with a good Stranraer side.”
