Stirling Albion bring down the curtain on 2014/15 with a game against local rivals Stenhousemuir at Forthbank on Saturday. We are seeking only our second home victory of the season, and our fourth overall, while the Warriors need maximum points to have any chance of avoiding the relegation play-offs and the possibility of joining us in League 2 come August.
Team news: Lee Hamilton is suspended after being sent off in our 4-0 defeat at Ayr last weekend but Adam Cummins and Kevin McKinlay are available again after bans. Lewis Coult and Steven Doris are injured and a number of our U20s are set to be included in the squad. Stenhousemuir are without former Albion striker Martin Grehan, who was sent off last week.
Opponents: Brown Ferguson’s side drew 2-2 with Brechin last weekend but the Warriors have won just twice in 17 games in 2015 and occupy the relegation play-off place. They trail Ayr by two points, with an inferior goal difference of three, so must win at Forthbank to have any chance of avoiding the play-offs, and a likely semi-final meeting with East Fife. Stenny’s away record is three wins, one draw and 13 defeats.
Past meetings: Stenhousemuir coasted to a 4-0 victory at Forthbank in October in what turned out to be Greig McDonald’s last game in charge but we won both games at Ochilview this season – 5-4 back in August and 2-1 at New Year.
