Stirling Albion manager Stuart McLaren was very unhappy with his team’s display as we lost 4-0 to Ayr United at Somerset Park on Saturday.
Two goals in each half lifted the Honest Men out of the bottom two on a day when we had Lee Hamilton sent off in the closing stages.
McLaren said: “I’m very disappointed with the performance overall. I felt we let ourselves down and we let the fans down.
“We didn’t show enough desire in the first half and we made poor decisions when we were in possession so I’m as annoyed today as I have been. The first goal helped Ayr settle into the game and from then on they controlled it.”
Ayr boss Ian McCall said: “That’s as poor as we’ve played at home for a while but we took our two half chances in the first half. It was a horrible windy day and the pitch was poor which made it difficult for both teams but I have to be happy with 4-0.”
