A one-off match day programme for today’s SPFL1 game versus Airdrieonians due to circumstances beyond our control – the Editor of “The Albion” has been unwell for the past couple of weeks!
In addition to Airdrieonians’ officials, management, players and supporters (with a special mention for Airdrie Aces), I’m delighted to extend a particularly warm welcome to Kevin Drinkell and a good number of former players from his era as manager. They will be in the Supporters’ Bar both pre and post match, so please feel free to come along and meet them.
From a footballing perspective, things are looking pretty bleak with regards to retaining our place in SPFL1 but everyone at the Club remains in determined mood to finish off the season strongly. There are still five matches and 15 points to be played for and while, as I’ve said, it’s a long shot, stranger things have happened!
Irrespective of how things pan out for the remainder of this season, Stuart McLaren and Martyn Corrigan will be in charge for season 2015/16 and they have the full backing of the Board in their preparations, which have already begun in earnest with negotiations on player retention and potential new recruits well under way.
For starters, I’m delighted to be able to advise that Ross McGeachie put pen to paper earlier this week, to add to the players already signed up for next season – Kevin McKinlay, Sandy Cunningham and Lee Hamilton.
Enjoy today’s game – “The Albion” Magazine will return in time for the Morton match on April 18th.
