Stirling Albion head for Forfar on Saturday to take on Dick Campbell’s title-chasing side at Station Park. We are looking to build on last weekend’s 2-1 home victory over Peterhead but trail second-bottom Ayr United by 10 points with six matches remaining.
Team news: On-loan Hearts midfielder Angus Beith is on international duty with the Scotland U19 squad in Austria and came on as a late substitute in the 2-1 win against hosts Austria in the group opener on Thursday. Kevin McKinlay is out with a foot injury and Darren Lee Smith and Steven Doris are also sidelined. Forfar are without suspended duo Michael Travis and Stuart Malcolm.
Opponents: Forfar won 3-2 at Brechin last weekend and, along with Morton, are just a point behind leaders Stranraer. Dick Campbell’s side have the best home record in League 1, with 11 wins, two draws and two defeats.
Past meetings: We lost 2-1 on our last visit to Station Park in December when Martyn Fotheringham headed a late winner after Steven Doris had cancelled out Darren Dods’ opener. It was 2-2 at Forthbank in September when we fought back from two goals down thanks to a Sandy Cunningham double. Forfar won 1-0 in the most recent meeting in January, Gavin Malin claiming the only goal.
