It’s football for a fiver (concessions free!) at Forthbank on Tuesday night as we welcome title-chasing Stranraer for a match that was originally due to be played on Saturday March 7 but was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
We ended a run of seven straight defeats in League 1 with a 1-1 draw against Dunfermline at East End Park on Saturday.
Team news: On-loan Andy Stirling, a former Stranraer player, is available again after missing the game against parent club Dunfermline on Saturday. Angus Beith and Ross Forsyth should also return but Steven Doris is out for the rest of the season and Darren Lee Smith is also sidelined.
Opponents: Stranraer will go top if they win at Forthbank – Stephen Aitken’s side are third in the table, two points behind Morton and Stranraer. The Blues enjoyed a terrific four-month unbeaten run earlier in the season but have lost three of their last four matches – the exception was a 5-1 thumping of Dunfermline at Stair Park.
Past meetings: It was 1-1 at Forthbank in November when Phil Johnston’s opener was cancelled out by Steven Bell before half-time. Stranraer won both meetings at Stair Park this season – 2-0 back in September and 1-0 at the end of January, when skipper Frank McKeown scored late on.
