Stirling Albion play the first of two away games in four days when we make the short journey to Airdrie on Saturday, with a trip to face Morton on Tuesday next up.
Stuart McLaren’s side are bidding to end a run of five straight defeats and close the eight-point gap on second-bottom Stenhousemuir.
Team news: Ex-Stranraer winger Andy Stirling has joined on loan from Dunfermline until the end of the season and central defender Adam Cummins has made a similar move from Motherwell – both are added to the squad. Steven Doris and Graham Weir are still out while Darren Lee Smith is close to a return after four months on the sidelines with a knee injury.
Opponents: Airdrie made a slow start to the season but have lost just one of their last 11 matches, winning the past two against Forfar and Stenhousemuir. Gary Bollan’s team are in seventh place in the table, nine points outside the promotion play-offs. Their home record this season is five wins, four draws and four defeats.
Past meetings: It was 0-0 at the Excelsior Stadium at the end of August, although both sides hit the woodwork twice. That game remains the only time we have kept a clean sheet in League 1 this season. It was 2-2 at Forthbank in October when Darren Smith and Ross Forsyth were in temporary charge of the team – Dale Fulton and Gordon Smith got our goals.
