**MATCH POSTPONED DUE TO A FROZEN PITCH**
After last weekend’s narrow defeat to leaders Stranraer, we face another away game against a Morton side who are the bookies’ favourites for the League 1 title.
Stirling Albion trail second-bottom Ayr United by six points and by Saturday evening two-thirds of the season will have been completed.
Team news: Skipper Chris Smith returns after a one-match ban and on-loan Falkirk forward Scott Shepherd is available after missing the trip to Stranraer due to illness. Steven Doris, Graham Weir and Darren Lee Smith remain out. U20 players Jordan Sinclair and Chris Paton are likely to be named in the squad.
Opponents: Morton are up to second in the table after back-to-back wins at home to Dunfermline and away to Forfar. Jim Duffy recently signed striker Peter MacDonald from Dundee and he has scored in the last three games while Declan McManus has returned to the club on loan from Aberdeen. Morton’s home record this season is seven wins, one draw and three defeats.
Past meetings: We lost 2-0 at Cappielow back in October then surrendered a 3-1 lead at Forthbank on December 27 as Morton claimed a 4-3 win. Our last success in Greenock was 2-1 in a midweek match in October 2005 – since then we have played there eight times, drawing three and losing five.
