Raith Rovers visit Forthbank for the first time since winning 2-1 in April 2011 when we meet in the fourth round of the William Hill Scottish Cup on Saturday.
The Kirkcaldy club defeated Linlithgow Rose 2-0 in the last round while we overcame Hurlford United 13-12 in an amazing penalty shoot-out.
Team news: Willie Robertson starts a three-match ban after being sent off against Dunfermline last week and fellow midfielder Darren Lee Smith is still sidelined with a knee injury. Striker Lewis Coult has suffered a recurrence of his ankle problem and misses out but Angus Beith, our new loan signing from Hearts, could make his debut.
Opponents: Raith are sitting fifth in the Championship, four points outside the promotion play-offs. They went down 2-0 at Queen of the South last Saturday but were 2-1 winners over Cowdenbeath at Stark’s Park the previous week.
Past meetings: The clubs have met twice before in this competition – Raith won 4-2 at Annfield in 1947/48 while Albion were 2-0 winners at Forthbank in 2000/01 with goals from Chris Templeman and Ally Graham. The most recent encounter between the teams was in July 2013 when Grant Murray’s men won 2-1 at Stark’s Park in the first round of the Challenge Cup.
Scottish Cup: Raith Rovers have reached the final once, losing 2-0 to Falkirk at Celtic Park back in season 1912/13. We have never gone beyond the quarter-finals and last reached that stage in 1989/90, when we lost to Clydebank after a replay. The 30th anniversary of our famous 20-0 win over Selkirk at Annfield falls a week on Monday.
