We head for Glebe Park on Tuesday evening for a rearranged League 1 game against Brechin City, kick-off 7.45pm. The match was due to be played on Saturday but was postponed due to our William Hill Scottish Cup third-round replay with Hurlford United.
Following Saturday’s penalty shoot-out drama, this is the first league game in charge for new manager Stuart McLaren and we are seeking our second victory of the season – the first was 5-4 against Stenhousemuir at Ochilview back in August.
Team news: Central defender Craig Wedderburn is available after missing the cup replay with Hurlford due to suspension but midfielders Craig Comrie and Darren Lee Smith and striker Lewis Coult remain on the injury list.
Opponents: Brechin lost their most recent home game 2-1 to Stranraer on October 18 but have since won away to Ayr United, 2-0 in League 1, and Stenhousemuir, 2-1 in the Scottish Cup. Ray McKinnon’s men have played five league games at Glebe Park this season and their record is two wins, one draw and two defeats.
Past meetings: Andy Jackson and Alan Trouten both scored twice when Brechin won 5-0 at Forthbank in September. We came out on top 2-1 on our last visit to Glebe Park in April 2012 thanks to goals from Mark Ferry and Alan Cook and we also won 3-1 there in 2011/12 despite ending it with relegation from Division Two. We memorably clinched the title at Glebe Park with a 1-1 draw on the final day of 2009/10 and some fans will recall the thrilling 5-1 victory in April 1990.
