Stirling Albion manager Greig McDonald was an angry man after watching his side lose 5-0 to Brechin City at Forthbank on Saturday.
In the first meeting between the teams since season 2011/12, Andy Jackson opened the scoring and Jackson, Alan Trouten (2) and Bobby Barr piled on the misery in the second half.
McDonald said: “The performance was unacceptable. The players have let me and Marc McCulloch down, they have let the club down and have let the supporters down.
“They are good lads and we had a long chat after the game – the players will need to do better, starting against Forfar next week.”
“Not only did we lose five goals but we didn’t show anything going forward – we were nowhere near where we need to be. With the greatest respect to Brechin, they shouldn’t be beating us 5-0.”
Glebe Park gaffer Ray McKinnon said: “We’ve got a strong squad and we’ve made a good start to the season. I’m delighted with the result – it was a real team performance. We defended well and I’m pleased for both Andy Jackson and Alan Trouten getting two goals each.”
