Stirling Albion are delighted to announce the arrival of attacking trio Steven Doris, Lewis Coult and Gordon Smith for the 2014/15 campaign.
They take manager Greig McDonald’s summer signing tally to six, with goalkeeper Greg Paterson (East Fife), defender Craig Wedderburn (St Andrews United) and midfielder Darren Smith (Stenhousemuir) having put pen to paper last weekend.
Steven, 25, began his career at St Johnstone and had loan spells at Montrose and Arbroath before making a permanent move to Gayfield in the summer of 2009.
He had an excellent scoring record for the Red Lichties, averaging close to a goal every two games, and had a trial with Birmingham City before signing for Dundee last summer.
Steven made 15 appearances for the Dark Blues and also had a brief loan spell back at Arbroath. He left Dens Park earlier this week and was attracting interest from a number of other clubs.
Lewis, 26, started out at Hamilton Accies and had brief stints at Alloa and Berwick before moving to the Junior ranks.
He is probably best known from his time at Cowdenbeath and we will now forgive him the hat-trick he scored against us at Central Park in February 2012!
He switched to Airdrie 12 months ago and scored six goals in 21 League 1 appearances for the Diamonds.
Gordon, 23, is well known to Albion fans after enjoying a successful loan spell at Forthbank during our 2010/11 campaign in Division One.
The former Livingston and Hearts striker spent the 2013/14 season with Raith Rovers, helping them win the Ramsdens Cup and scoring five goals in 33 Championship appearances, around half of which were as a substitute.
Stirling Albion Chairman Stuart Brown said: “I am absolutely delighted with all of the new additions that Greig (McDonald) and Marc (McCulloch) have managed to bring in over the past couple of weeks as they get close to completing our playing squad for the forthcoming season.
“The Board accepted that to be competitive in League 1 we needed to back our management team, while still maintaining a firm grip on our overall longer-term financial strategy. I’m confident we have delivered on both counts. Welcome aboard, Gordon, Lewis and Steven!”
In addition to the latest arrivals, we are pleased to report that Blair Munn has signed a professional contract with the club. The midfielder made his first-team debut last season when he was still part of our U19 squad.
