All roads lead to Galabank on Saturday afternoon as we take on Annan Athletic in the second leg of the League 1 play-off semi-final. Greig McDonald’s men lead 3-1 from the first leg on Wednesday thanks to a Graham Weir goal and a David Weatherston double. David Hopkirk pulled one back for Jim Chapman’s team in the second half.
Format: Away goals don’t count double in the event of a draw in the play-offs so extra time and penalties, if required, would settle the outcome. The winners will be up against Clyde or East Fife in the final on Wednesday May 14 and Sunday May 18. The Bully Wee lead 1-0 ahead of the second leg at Bayview, which has a 2pm kick-off.
Team news: Midfielder Darren Smith is expected to be fit despite having to come off with a slight knock on Wednesday. Defender Brian Allison remains a long-term absentee but everyone else should be available.
Match facts: We are eight games undefeated and have scored at least twice in each of those matches. We have won our last three away games at Annan (2-1), Albion Rovers (2-0) and Peterhead (4-0). David Weatherston has netted seven times in his last seven outings. Annan have failed to score in only two matches all season in League 2. Their home record is 10 wins, three draws and five defeats.
Galabank record: This will be our fifth visit to Galabank and our only defeat on the plastic pitch was 5-2 in November 2012 on a day when we finished with nine men. We won the second game that season 1-0. This term we drew 4-4 in an incredible match in November and won 2-1 on March 29 when David Weatherston got both our goals.
