We welcome Annan Athletic to Forthbank on Wednesday evening, kick-off 7.45pm, for the first leg of the League 1 play-off semi-final.
It is only the second time we have been involved in the play-offs, with Allan Moore memorably leading us to victories over Raith Rovers and Airdrie in 2006/07. The winners over the two legs will play East Fife or Clyde in the final on May 14 & 18.
Team news: Defender Ross McGeachie, who has missed the last two games with an ankle injury, is available for selection and Binos boss Greig McDonald should have a full squad to choose from, with the exception of long-term absentee Brian Allison.
Facts and figures: We are on a seven-match unbeaten run – five wins and two draws – since losing 1-0 to Clyde on March 15. Our only home defeat since September was 2-1 to champions Peterhead in February. Jim Chapman’s Annan finished five points ahead of us in League 2 and failed to score in only two of their 36 games.
Recent meetings: A David Weatherston double earned us a 2-1 win at Galabank at the end of March but Annan won 2-0 at Forthbank in September. The other two meetings this season have been drawn – 4-4 at Galabank in November and 1-1 at Forthbank in January. We won three of the four encounters last year.
