Stirling Albion boss Greig McDonald praised his players for an excellent performance as a David Weatherston double helped us beat Annan 2-1 at Galabank on Saturday.
Annan pulled one back with a Blair Henderson penalty but we held on for a vital win to move two points clear in fourth place, with a big game to come against Berwick at Forthbank this weekend.
McDonald said: “In the first half, with the wind behind us, we were absolutely dominant and in the second half we dealt with everything Annan threw at us.
“We’ve been in the top four for most of the season but no-one seems to be talking about us. That suits us fine and we’ll continue to go about our business quietly.”
Annan manager Jim Chapman said: “It was a pretty horrible game in difficult conditions and we fell below the standards we have set. We kept going right to the end but we were far too predictable.”
