We head down the M74 on Saturday to play in-form Annan Athletic at Galabank. We go into the game still holding on to fourth place in the table after the 2-2 draw at home to Montrose while Annan look assured of at least second spot and are still in touch with Peterhead after a fine run of results.
Team news: Sandy Cunningham could miss out after suffering a head knock last week and Brian Allison remains a long-term absentee but midfielder Darren Smith is expected to return after sitting out the last three games with a calf strain.
Match facts: Annan have won six of their last seven games, the latest being a 2-0 victory at Albion Rovers on Tuesday, to close the gap on leaders Peterhead to five points. Jim Chapman’s men beat the Blue Toon 2-1 at Galabank last weekend and have failed to score in only two League 2 games all season. We have failed to win any of our last five matches and have drawn a blank in four out of five on the road since beating Queen’s Park in January.
Past meetings: It was 4-4 in an incredible game at Galabank in November when Ally Love’s last-minute penalty denied us the win that would have taken us to the top of the table. Kieran McAnespie, Sandy Cunningham, Jordan White and Ross Forsyth got our goals. Annan beat us 2-0 at Forthbank in September and it was 1-1 at the end of January when White headed a stoppage-time leveller. We won 1-0 at Galabank last April, having lost our first visit 5-2.
