This weekend marks the start of a vital four days in our quest to ensure a top-four finish. Greig McDonald’s men make the short journey to Ochilview on Saturday to face play-off rivals East Stirlingshire before we welcome Elgin City to Forthbank for a free-entry fixture on Tuesday, kick-off 7.45pm.
Team news: Ross Forsyth is still out and the game could come too soon for Chris Smith, whose last appearance was against Shire at Ochilview in November. East Stirling welcome back Iain Thomson after a ban but they have doubts over Kevin Turner and Michael Bolochoweckyj.
Match facts: We go into the match in fourth place, two points ahead of East Stirlingshire and with a game in hand. Our last two away outings were a 0-0 draw at Montrose and a 3-2 win at Elgin. Shire went down 4-0 at leaders Peterhead last weekend but have lost just once at Ochilview in League 2 since September, 1-0 to Clyde in November. Their most recent home game was 1-1 against Berwick.
Past meetings: Shire won 3-1 at Forthbank in August but we gained revenge in January when Craig Comrie and Mark Ferry scored late on in a 2-1 victory. It was 2-2 at Ochilview in November when Jordan White scored a double and an own goal. We only managed one win in the four games against John Coughlin’s team in 2012/13 – that was the 9-1 success a year ago this weekend.
