Stirling Albion welcome Queen’s Park to Forthbank on Saturday as we begin a crucial month that also brings games against East Stirlingshire, Elgin City, Clyde, Montrose and Annan. We are aiming to make it three wins in a row for the first time this season in League 2 while new Spiders boss Gus MacPherson is seeking his first victory since taking over in January.
Team news: Skipper Jamie Bishop is available again after missing last week’s 3-2 win at Elgin due to work commitments and the injury situation has also improved, with only Ross Forsyth and Chris Smith still out.
Facts and figures: Our only home defeat since September was against leaders Peterhead recently. Jordan White has scored five goals in his last five matches to take his tally for the season to 15. Queen’s Park are on a run of four straight defeats but they have all been by single-goal margins, most recently 3-2 away to second-placed Annan on Tuesday.
Recent meetings: Mark Ferry scored the only goal when we won 1-0 in a poor game of few chances at the Excelsior Stadium in January. Late goals from Ferry and Sandy Cunningham saw us win 2-0 at Hampden in August while Dale Fulton, Cunningham and Bradley Coyne were on target in a 3-0 home victory in November when Queen’s Park had James Brough sent off before half-time. We had a poor record last season, losing twice at Forthbank and picking up just one point at Hampden.
