We head south of the border on Saturday to face Berwick Rangers at Shielfield. Our opponents will have ex-Cowdenbeath boss Colin Cameron in charge for the first time – he was appointed following the departure of Ian Little on Sunday. Seven points from nine have lifted us to third in the table while Berwick are in eighth spot, eight points outside the top four.
Team news: Binos boss Greig McDonald is still exploring a number of options as he bids to add to his squad but it now looks unlikely that there will be any new signings ahead of the Berwick match. Defender Chris Smith is still sidelined after knee surgery and on-loan Rangers centre-half Luca Gasparotto played the final game of his loan spell last weekend. Berwick are again without Dougie Brydon and Stephen Tulloch.
Match facts: We have scored in every game since losing 4-0 at Elgin at the end of September. Last week’s 1-0 win over Queen’s Park at Airdrie was our first on the road since beating the same opponents at Hampden in August. Berwick have lost their last two home games against Peterhead and Annan. Our last victory at Shielfield was 1-0 in October 2004 thanks to a Scott McLean penalty.
Past meetings: It was 1-1 at Shielfield in September when David Weatherston’s opening goal was cancelled out in the last minute by Darren Lavery. We won 3-1 in a midweek match at Forthbank in early December with goals from Jordan White, Steve Notman (og) and Ross Forsyth. Last season saw Berwick win both games at Shielfield while we came out on top in the two Forthbank encounters.
