Everyone at Stirling Albion would like to congratulate on-loan Rangers defender Luca Gasparotto on his inclusion in the Canada squad for the first time.
The 18-year-old has been called up for a training camp in Florida next week, so Saturday’s game against Queen’s Park at Airdrie’s Excelsior Stadium will mark the end of his brief loan spell at Forthbank.
Luca was due to be with us until after the Berwick match on January 18 but he will now travel to meet up with his Canadian colleagues on Sunday.
Ibrox coach Ian Durrant told the official club website www.rangers.co.uk: “Luca will be training over there for 10 days and he has been enjoying his time at Stirling Albion as well. It’s a good learning curve for him.
“There are a lot of good, experienced players in League Two and it has been a good test for him as he tries to improve as a centre-half.
“Stirling have been good enough to allow Luca to leave early and he’ll be looking to go away on a high with a good result for them this weekend.”
