Stirling Albion go into Saturday’s home match with Clyde in fifth place in League 2, six points behind the Bully Wee and leaders Peterhead but with a game in hand. After back-to-back away defeats to Albion Rovers and Peterhead, we are looking to extend our impressive home form, which has brought us five wins from seven matches so far.
Team news: On-loan Rangers defender Luca Gasparotto serves a one-match ban after being sent off in last week’s 3-1 defeat at Peterhead but forward Graham Weir is available after suspension. Chris Smith remains out after recent knee surgery and fellow centre-half Jamie Clark is also sidelined.
Facts and figures: We are seeking our fifth straight home win after recent victories over Montrose, Albion Rovers, Queen’s Park and Berwick but Clyde are unbeaten on the road since losing to Elgin at the end of August. Jim Duffy’s men have lost just one of their last 10 matches – at home to Peterhead earlier this month. Clyde have the best defensive record in League 2 but only Queen’s Park have scored fewer goals.
Recent meetings: First-half goals from David Marsh and Scott Ferguson earned Clyde a 2-1 win at Broadwood at the end of October when Bradley Coyne netted our consolation. We won 2-1 in Cumbernauld on the final day of 2012/13 and triumphed 2-0 at Forthbank in February but the Bully Wee have an excellent record here.
