Binos boss Greig McDonald felt we should have had a penalty before Peterhead sealed a 3-1 victory with a spot-kick of their own at Balmoor on Saturday.
Rory McAllister completed his hat-trick after on-loan Rangers defender Luca Gasparotto had been sent off for bringing down Andy Rodgers.
McDonald said: “For me it was a foul on David Weatherston. I’m sure it would have been a free-kick had it been on the halfway line but I’d like to see it on the video.
“For their penalty, it was a great touch by Andy Rodgers but I think the ball was already through to David Crawford when the tackle was made so for me that is not a red card.
“We shot ourselves in the foot by giving away an early goal and we didn’t use the conditions to our advantage in the first half when the wind was behind us.”
Peterhead manager Jim McInally said: “It was great to score so early because it is something we have done very rarely. I thought our second goal came a bit against the run of play but we always felt like we could get in behind them.
“The only complaint is that we could have scored a few more goals – we missed a couple of sitters at the start of the second half and missed a couple more after they scored – but thankfully we got the penalty which came about thanks to a great bit of skill from Andy Rodgers.”
