We make the 300-mile round trip to Peterhead on Saturday for our final away fixture of 2013, looking for the win that would move us level on points with the Blue Toon. Peterhead drew 1-1 with Albion Rovers at gale-lashed Balmoor last weekend while our home fixture with Elgin City was postponed shortly before kick-off due to a waterlogged pitch.
Team news: Defender Chris Smith remains sidelined after knee surgery. Full-back Danny Ashe and striker Bradley Coyne are also out and Graham Weir serves a one-match ban after his red card against Albion Rovers a fortnight ago. New loan signing, teenage central defender Luca Gasparotto from Rangers, is added to the squad.
Match facts: Peterhead are unbeaten at Balmoor in League 2 but have drawn six of their eight matches. Jim McInally’s men have lost just one of their last 10 league games overall, away to Annan in early November. We are without an away win since beating Queen’s Park at the end of August but have failed to score just once on our travels, in the 4-0 defeat at Elgin. The Blue Toon have scored in every home game.
Past meetings: We won 2-0 at Forthbank in August thanks to goals from Dale Fulton and Phil Johnston on a day when Jamie Bishop and Andy Rodgers were sent off. Both games at Balmoor last season ended all square – 2-2 in October and 0-0 in February – while it was a win apiece at Forthbank.
