Binos boss Greig McDonald and his Elgin City counterpart Ross Jack had no issue with referee Mike Taylor’s decision to postpone Saturday’s game due to a waterlogged pitch.
The match officials carried out a couple of checks to the pitch before calling the game off at around 2.45pm, with no sign of the conditions improving.
McDonald said: “The park was looking good when I arrived but the rain became torrential and there was water lying on the pitch. The referee gave it every chance, and there were people working on it, but he was concerned about player safety.”
Jack added: “There is no blame attached to anyone. The referee updated us all the way along and was very good. We did possession work before the game and the pitch was generally OK but there were areas that were probably dangerous. I agree with the decision as the weather wasn’t getting any better.”
