Binos boss Greig McDonald was left to bemoan a poor first-half display as we went down 2-1 to Albion Rovers at Cliftonhill on Saturday.
Goals from Barry Russell and Chris Dallas had Rovers in control at the break and Jamie Bishop’s second-half header was the only reply as our five-match unbeaten run in League 2 came to an end.
McDonald said: “We didn’t show up in the first half and for some reason we didn’t pass the ball. We started to go long and it didn’t work and we conceded two disappointing goals from set-pieces.
“I thought we dominated the second half but we could only get the one goal back. We had a lot of possession but the final pass let us down at times.”
Albion Rovers manager James Ward said: “We were very good in the first half but they had a go at us in the second half and we sat too deep but the character of the players got them through.
“They’ve had a big week and were tired but we needed to keep the momentum going and we are back in the mix – this must be the tightest league in the world!”
