Albion manager Greig McDonald hailed the display against Montrose as the best of the season after goals from Chris Smith, Jordan White and Sandy Cunningham earned us a deserved 3-1 win.
Bryan Deasley had Montrose level at half-time but the Binos were well on top in the second period as we moved to within three points of leaders East Stirlingshire.
McDonald said: “That was our best performance of the season. The players worked really hard, we played some great passing football and scored good goals. It was really important to beat Whitehill Welfare in the Scottish Cup last week and now we want to push on from here in the league.
“We gave Bradley Coyne his first start of the season up front. He has had to wait for his chance but I thought he was excellent – as were all the players – and it was nice for Sandy Cunningham to come on and score another goal.”
Montrose boss Stuart Garden, last week voted League 2 Manager of the Month for September, said: “I’m starting to believe in the Manager of the Month curse now!
“We started both halves badly and that cost us. I thought we shaded the first half but there is no doubt that Stirling deserved to win the game. We have been going well so hopefully this is just a blip.”
