We are at home to Hamilton Accies in the first round of the League Cup on Saturday. Alex Neil’s side lost their Ramsdens Cup opener 2-1 to Airdrieonians last weekend and we went down by the same score to Raith Rovers at Stark’s Park. This is the first League Cup meeting between the teams since August 1995, when Albion claimed a 2-0 win at Forthbank.
Team news: Defenders Jamie Bishop and Ross McGeachie are doubtful after picking up injuries at Raith but striker Bradley Coyne could return to the squad, 12 months after his last first-team appearance. David McClune is still sidelined. Hamilton have Andy Ryan suspended, Louis Longridge is doubtful and Jon McShane is out.
League Cup record: We once reached the semi-finals, back in 1961/62, but haven’t won a tie in this competition since beating Brechin 1-0 in 2007. Arbroath defeated us on penalties after a 1-1 draw at Gayfield 12 months ago.
