Stirling Albion manager Greig McDonald praised his much-changed side for earning a deserved 1-0 win over Annan at Galabank on Saturday as we moved up to seventh place in the table.
No fewer than six of our starting line-up were 21 or younger and 19-year-old Stephen Day headed the only goal after just 93 seconds in a match that was spoiled by a strong wind.
McDonald said: “We controlled the game and didn’t look in any danger. We were missing a number of players through injury and suspension and had a lot of young boys out there, but they were excellent.”
Annan boss Jim Chapman said: “We have been excellent in the last few weeks but that was one of the worst performances since I took over and I’ve let the players know, in no uncertain terms, how I feel.”
