Greig McDonald praised Albion’s fighting spirit after Josh Flood headed an 87th-minute equaliser in Saturday’s 2-2 draw against Montrose at Links Park.
Mark Ferry gave us an early lead but on-loan duo Martin Boyle and Ricky McIntosh had Montrose on course for all three points until Flood came off the bench to claim his fourth goal of the season.
McDonald said: “Josh can light up a game from nothing and that’s why we put him on. We didn’t play great but it shows our spirit to get a draw – at 2-1 down any chance of the play-offs was over, so credit to the players for fighting back. We didn’t deserve to lose.”
Montrose boss Stuart Garden said: “I am disappointed to lose a goal so late in the game as there is no doubt we deserved to win. We had more than enough opportunities and had a grip of most of the game.”
