Saturday’s Third Division match against Berwick Rangers at Forthbank is subject to a 10am pitch inspection. The freezing conditions of earlier in the week have eased but there was still frost in the ground on Friday evening and it is a case of hoping the thaw is rapid enough to allow the game to be played.
Team news: Danny Ashe (ankle) and Jamie Clark (hamstring) remain out and Jamie McCunnie is doubtful due to illness. Daly McSorley is suspended after his red card at Ibrox. Berwick travel north without Marc Lancaster and Dene Droudge.
Past meetings: This is the first Forthbank league meeting between the teams since Berwick won 1-0 in November 2004. We came out on top 2-1 in a Challenge Cup clash the following season. The Borderers ran out easy 4-1 winners at Shielfield in September when Jordan White scored our consolation goal on his debut.
Match facts: We have not played at home since losing 4-1 to Elgin on November 17 and trail East Stirlingshire by five points at the foot of the table. Ian Little’s Berwick are in fifth spot following a 1-1 home draw with Peterhead but have won just once on the road, against East Stirling.
Albion manager Greig McDonald: “The last time we played Berwick we put in our worst performance of the season and it would be great to put that right with a win.”
