Stirling Albion player/manager Greig McDonald will have more options available for Saturday’s game at Ibrox, with a number of those who missed our most recent outing against Queen’s Park on November 23 set to return.
Jamie McCunnie, Danny Ashe and Jamie Clark are likely to miss out but experienced full-backs Kieran McAnespie and David McClune are available and skipper Brian Allison – the goal hero when the teams met at Forthbank on October 6 – has recovered from illness. Defender Gary Thom is free from suspension after serving a two-match ban.
McDonald said: “I know Rangers are celebrating their 140th anniversary this weekend and will be hoping to put on a show but we are aiming to spoil the party.
“The guys are going to have to put in a massive effort – probably even more than they did at Forthbank – but we are up for it. It’s a great occasion for our young lads who at this time last year were playing for the U19s and now get to play in front of a huge crowd against international players.
“I’m sure Rangers will be eager to even the score after what happened last time but we need to get points because we should be fighting for the top four rather than sitting at the bottom of the league.”
