December begins with a home game against East Stirlingshire on Saturday, subject to Forthbank passing a morning inspection. We go into the match five points behind our local rivals and looking to end a run of four straight defeats since a 2-2 draw at Peterhead on October 27.
Team news: Kieran McAnespie is expected to return to the squad and Gary Thom is back after a two-match ban but Jamie Clark, Danny Ashe, Jamie McCunnie, David McClune and Brian Allison are all set to miss out. Shire are without Philipp Zufle, Rhys Devlin, Jamie Benton, Jamie Glasgow and Craig Donaldson.
Past meetings: The teams have not met at Forthbank since March 2004 when we triumphed 6-0 en route to promotion from Division Three. Shire came out on top 3-1 at Ochilview in September, when Scott Davidson was sent off, but we have not lost at home in this fixture since 1985.
Match facts: We have lost at Forthbank to Montrose, Deveronvale and Elgin since beating Rangers while Shire’s away record this season is one win (at Hampden) and four defeats. They have yet to draw and lost 1-0 to Berwick at Ochilview on Sunday.
Albion manager Greig McDonald: “We showed spirit against Queen’s Park and it would be great to get the win we need to kick-start our season.”
Shire boss John Coughlin: “We are passing the ball about really well in games but not picking up enough wins.”
