Greig McDonald apologised after conceding the last-minute penalty which allowed Queen’s Park to claim a 2-1 win against us at Hampden on Friday night.
The player/manager, making his first league start of the season, caught substitute Ian Watt and Tony Quinn converted the spot-kick.
Aidan Connolly, son of ex-Binos favourite Paddy, had given the Spiders the lead early in the second half but Scott Davidson equalised soon after with his first goal since August and we were worthy of a point on the night.
However, Quinn won it for the home side and McDonald said: “We had only 12 fit players and some of them were struggling with the flu. They worked so hard and I killed them with the penalty.
“I have let down the supporters, the players and the chairman but I have never walked away from anything in my life.”
Queen’s Park boss Gardner Speirs said: “The most important thing for us was to get back to winning ways and Aidan Connolly scored a fantastic goal.”
