Stirling Albion and Montrose meet for the first time in the league since a 1-1 draw at Forthbank in April 2004. We are seeking a third straight win after beating Dalbeattie Star and Rangers and are chasing a third shut-out on the trot – something we last achieved in 2006. Like ourselves, Montrose are yet to win away but are two points above us in the table thanks to a strong home record.
Team news: Albion are missing long-term injury victim Bradley Coyne while player/manager Greig McDonald is on his honeymoon. U19 players Sandy Cunningham and Steven Forbes will join the first-team squad for experience but will not be in the 16. Montrose are missing Paul Watson but fellow defenders Alan Campbell and Paul Lunan are set to return.
Stirling Albion assistant manager Shaun Fagan: “There is no point in beating Rangers then not building on it. This game has an edge as we can climb the table with a win, so we can go out and play with the same sense of purpose as we did against Rangers.”
Montrose boss Stuart Garden: “We are very much an up and down team at the moment, where we win one game and then fall flat. The 6-1 defeat from Elgin was really disappointing but hopefully having Alan Campbell and Paul Lunan back will settle us down.”
