Stirling Albion assistant bosses Marc McCulloch and Shaun Fagan will again be in charge of the team for Saturday’s match against Montrose, with manager Greig McDonald on his honeymoon.
McCulloch has challenged the squad to build on the famous win over Rangers a fortnight ago as we bid to climb above Montrose in the Third Division table.
He said: “The Rangers game was fantastic and it’s great we created a bit of history for the club. It will be talked about for years to come, and rightly so, but in terms of the league we have to remember it’s three points whoever you are playing.
“We have the chance to go above Montrose which adds an extra edge. They have had some good results this season and it’s important we get the first goal.”
Albion and Montrose last met on league business in 2003/04 – our most recent victory against the Gable Endies was in February 2004 when Ryan Davidson, David O’Brien, Derek Lyle and George Rowe scored.
Only the West Stand will be open for Saturday’s match, with Montrose fans requested to use turnstiles 3&4.
