Stirling Albion and East Stirlingshire meet tomorrow for the first time since 2006/07, when we won a Scottish Cup tie 2-0 at Firs Park, and the teams have not clashed on league business since 2003/04 when the Binos won all four meetings. Both teams are looking to recover from a poor start to the Third Division campaign.
East Stirlingshire (10th) v Stirling Albion (8th) – Ochilview, 3pm
Team news Albion are missing experienced full-backs David McClune and Kieran McAnespie. Player-assistant manager Shaun Fagan and striker Bradley Coyne remain sidelined. Shire have signed former Aberdeen defender Michael Dunlop on loan from Forfar and welcome back striker Paul Quinn from injury but Craig Donaldson is out.
Greig McDonald: “East Stirling have played really well in cup ties this season but have struggled in the league and hopefully that will still be the case after this game.”
John Coughlin: “We must hope that the fact that it is a derby match with a bigger crowd and a good atmosphere will encourage our players to perform well, much as they have done in the cup matches.”
Match facts We have not managed a shut-out since beating Albion Rovers in March. Shire’s last clean sheet in the league was against Berwick at the end of February. Albion have won nine and drawn one of the last 10 meetings between the teams since a 3-0 reverse at Firs Park in February 2002.
