Striker Bradley Coyne is expected to be out for up to eight weeks after straining the medial ligament in his right knee.
The 19-year-old summer signing from Forfar suffered the injury late in the first half of the opening-day 5-1 win over Annan and faces around two months on the sidelines.
Binos boss Greig McDonald: “It’s a big blow and it’s a real shame for Bradley. He is gutted but is already desperate to do as much as he can and we are having to calm him down!
“His knee will be assessed again this week but at the moment we are thinking six to eight weeks out. He has worked really hard since he came to the club and has shown in training that he is a terrific finisher – hopefully he will be back sooner than later.”
Everyone at SAFC wishes Bradley a speedy recovery and return to action.
