Stirling boss Greig McDonald admits his side got what they deserved as Elgin came from behind to win 3-1 at Borough Briggs on Saturday in the first league meeting between the teams since 2004.
Scott Davidson gave us the lead after just four minutes but Craig Gunn equalised before the break and Mark Nicolson and Dennis Wyness struck in the second half.
McDonald said: “For 15 minutes it was the Stirling side I know, but I didn’t recognise them for the other 75 minutes. It was nowhere near good enough and we need to be a lot better.”
Elgin manager Ross Jack said: “We didn’t panic when we lost the goal and after the equaliser I felt there was only one team going to win it.”
