Team news Former St Mirren striker Bradley Coyne is ruled out with the knee injury he picked up in last week’s 5-1 win over Annan and player-assistant boss Shaun Fagan is again missing. Full-back Kieran McAnespie returns after a one-match ban. Elgin midfielder Daniel Moore is suspended after being sent off in last week’s 0-0 draw away to Berwick Rangers.
Match info This is the first league meeting between the teams since we won 1-0 at Borough Briggs in April 2004 thanks to a Colin McKinnon goal. Elgin joined the SFL in 2000 and have made great strides under current boss Ross Jack. They reached the play-offs last season and were unlucky to lose to Albion Rovers in the semi-finals. City had an excellent home record in Division Three last term, with 11 wins, three draws and just four defeats. Elgin’s forthcoming fixture against Rangers at Ibrox is live on ESPN on Sunday September 2 with a 4.30pm kick-off. Our last away league match was the 2-1 win over Albion Rovers on the final day of 2011/12.
