Stirling Albion and Falkirk meet for the third time in the Ramsdens Cup on Saturday. Here’s what happened in the two previous meetings:
August 31, 2004 – Second round
Falkirk 5-3 Stirling Albion
We knocked out Dumbarton away from home in round one but Falkirk proved too strong in an entertaining clash. In front of 2,631 fans, our goals came from Connor Gethins, Darren Cummings and a Mark Campbell own goal while Davie Nicholls, Russell Latapy (2) and Darryl Duffy (2) scored for the Bairns, who went on to win the trophy.
July 24, 2010 – First round
Stirling Albion 0-0 Falkirk (Albion won 3-1 on pens)
A big shock as John O’Neill’s men came out on top against Steven Pressley’s team. The visitors dominated much of the match but Scott Christie was in outstanding form and was also the hero in the shoot-out. The reward was a trip to East Fife in round two but we were soundly beaten 3-1.
